Dr. Per Pinstrup Andersen – Professor Emeritus and Graduate School Professor at Cornell University and Adjunct Professor at Copenhagen University. He is currently chair of the Program Advisory Committee for the Eurasian Center for Food Security and senior consultant to the World Bank. He is the 2001 World Food Prize Laureate and the recipient of several awards for his research and communication of research results, including Danish Radio’s Rosenkjærprisen.

Pernille Falberg Rønn – PhD student at Steno Diabetes Center and Institute for Bioscience – Arctic Research Centre, Aarhus University. She is writing her thesis on ethnicity and obesity with an epidemiological perspective, and her focus is on the Inuit population of Greenland.

Guest Lectures:

Kelly O’Donnell – Mr O’Donnell is a consulting psychologist, CEO of Member Care Associates, Inc. and holds graduate degrees in clinical/community psychology including a doctorate from Rosemead School of Psychology, Biola University, USA. His publications in the member care/ mental health fields include more than sixty articles and five books.

Matt Muijen – As Program Manager for Mental Health at the WHO Regional Office for Europe, Dr. Muijen’s present priority is the drafting of a new WHO European Mental Health Action Plan for Europe. Until April 2004 he was Chief Executive of the Sainsbury Centre for Mental Health in London for 12 years. His background is in community psychiatry and epidemiology, and he trained in Cambridge and at the Institute of Psychiatry in London.

Mike Rowson – Senior teaching fellow and director of education at University College London’s institute of Global Health. Mr. Rowson teaches classes on health systems and policy, the political economy og global health, and conflict and humanitarianism.

Cæcilie Buhmann – A medical doctor specializing in psychiatry, researching treatment of war trauma. Ms Buhmann has a BSc in global health and a master of public health from London. She is the founding president of the Danish NGO, Global Doctors, and has co-initiated a summer course on global health at Copenhagen University.

Thomas Middelboe – President of the Danish Psychiatric Society. Having graduated as a doctor in 1986, Mr. Middelboe has worked in psychiatry since 1987. He has a Ph.D. concerning collectivities for mentally ill people. He has been a chief physician since 2002. .

Benedetta Barabino – A biologist by training, Ms Barabino received a doctorate in biophysics from the University of Rome La Sapienza and a master in Adult Education. She is responsible for the ‘Theatre of Coping’, an approach that uses writing and stage-directing as means to express, share and transform a difficult personal life experience. In 2009 she founded the Association Dance With Me – a new approach to dialogue and interaction through an educational program of ballroom dancing.
